Mugxtsu - Broken Skulls (2019) -The farest and obscurest branch in the heavy metal tree

Classified in one of the darkest branches, the Mugxtsu originally labeled as deathcore, in reality lies even further away from the metal root (don´t even know if it belongs in the same tree). In short, the sound in Broke Skulls is a mix of trap with deathcore vocals, unlike anything being made in the current mainstream.

The sound has cyclic rhythm and is extremely dark . At no point expect to hear riffs or melodies created on stringed instruments. From the trap identity comes the ceaseless drumbeat beat, syncopated rhythms with abstract drones synthesizers, from metal comes alternating vocals screams typical of deathcore. Ten songs and only two surpass  2 minutes. Highlight for Indestructible that comes closest to the rap music, Let it Burn that has participation of another wizard of the trap, Papa Sleep, Torment which is an interlude with a darkwave soul and The Fall that if played in the volume you're accustomed to hearing Iron Maiden for sure, the bass will blow your box.

It is extremely interesting to note how Canadian bands can channel the melancholy of the white snow to compose songs of intimidating black sonority. Mugxtsu composes the perfect sonority to hear during a bad LSD trip in the eternal winter of Canada. Totally recommended.
