Kadavar - Rough Times (2017) - Evolving the Classic 70's Hard Rock

"Rough Times" is the fourth studio album by the most illustrious band of the last few years when it comes to classic 70's Hard Rock. There are eleven visceral songs, full of vintage conviction added to a Beatles cover. In addition to creating an album of soaring quality, Kadavar did conceived the coarsest album cover of the year.

The album opens with Rough Time, fast in tempo, but with inspiration to spawn cadenced rhythmic oscillations. Into the Wormhole continues to break under a hyperbolically distorted bass, its failed to be doom only because of the mellow vocals of Christoph Lindemann and the cordial chorus. Skeleton Blues, a Deep Purple under acid, closes the album's heaviest song trio. The show continues to expand the trip and take the weight off. See You Found the Best in Me with its acoustic moments and hypnotizing whistles, see Vampires with passages in martial cadence full of suspense. The highlight is Die baby die, a seventies song in all parameters (even in the video, look up on youtube) calls the listener for the festivities under vows of "die baby die". Only low point is the dispensable recital in french A L'ombre Du Temps.

Kadavar continues to evolve to the top of the mainstream rock food chain. Increasingly daring, Rough Times refers to the early years of rock in which metal and hard rock conglomerated under the unique label of heavy music. A trip to simpler times, more authentic songs, and not too straight chords.
